Funeral of the Late Dowager Countess of Clancarty

On Monday the remains of the late Dowager Countess of Clancarty, grandmother of the present Earl, were taken to Ballinasloe by rail, arriving there at 11 o'clock a.m., when an immense concourse of people representing his lordship's tenantry, the inhabitants of Ballinasloe and surrounding localities, with the nobility and gentry of the Counties of Galway and Roscommon, assembled to pay a last tribute of respect to the deceased lady. The remains were taken to St. John's Church, Ballinasloe, and interred in the family vault attached to that edifice. The Dean of Clonfert officiated, and delivered a very eloquent discourse in which he dwelt on the many excellent qualities of the deceased lady.
