Description:
Proprietor Lord Oranmore, Castlemountgaret, Co. Mayo or London. Agent Jerrard Strickland, Esq., Loughglynn, Co. Roscommon. Held under lease of Robert Brown, Esq., Portarlington, and sublet to tenants. Rent 12 ½ shillings per acre. Soil all rocky. Farms from 2 to 4 acres. The very name of this townland tells that it is craggy. Produces light crops of wheat and potatoes and some oats. Co. Cess 11¾d. paid per acre for 14 acres. Vilage. No antiquities.
Situation:
In the East side of the Parish. Bounded on the North by the townlands of Gurtnaclossagh and Breandrim. West by Breandrim and Tubberrogue: South by Tubberrogue and Cloonnamorriv: and on the East by Cloonamorriv and Cregaree. In the Barony of Ross and County of Galway.
