Description:
This parish contains about 23,287 statute acres and is of a very irregular form. Its greatest from N. to S. is 10 miles and breadth from E. to W. 9 miles. The surface is level and there is a considerable quantity of flow bog in it. In the E. of the parish is the town of Newtown Bellew and Mount Bellew Bridge.
Situation:
Situated in the Barony of Killaan and Tiaquin in E. of the County of Galway about 9 miles E. of Tuam, 1 mile N.E. of Monivea and 11 miles N.W. of Castleblakeney.
