Description:
John D’Arcy, Esq. Proprietor. This townland contains 591 acres, 421 of which are cultivated, 7 uncultivated, 135 bog. Townland in the Court of Chancery, said court lets it every 7th year to the said proprietor’s son, at the yearly rent of £1 per acre, Co. Cess, from 1s. 3d. to 1s. 8d. half yearly per acre, Tythe 1s. per acre. Soil light, produce oats, flax, barley and wheat. No mineral. Kiltulla house is 2 stories, falling much into decay. There are the ruins of an ancient parish church in Kiltulla Demesne, also an old burying ground.
Situation:
Situated near the centre of the parish. It is bounded N. by Carnakelly South, E. by Knockatogher and Clorovan, S. by Kiltulla South and Greyford. W. by part of the latter townland and parish. In Athenry Barony.
