Description:
Proprietors 4 Co. heirs namely James Morris, Esq., Drimnagh, Captain Thos. Satchwell, Dunagh, Peter Lawles, Esq., Clifden and Anthony Skerret, Esq., Galway. No agent. Rent £24 per year. Soil rocky and moory having tract of bog attached to it. Produces poor crops of oats and potatoes. The tillage is among the rocks also reclaimed bog. Co. Cess 20¼d. paid for each of – acres half yearly. Ballinaboy Lake and do river: Lough-sellugh, Bridge, Lough a phutha S. of Lough sellugh which touches Maam. Public road leading from Ballinaboy to Clifden by Roundstone and Aillbrack Bay. Lough na gap on boundary of Ballinaboy and Derrygimlagh. 2 villages Derrinver and Lobby Ollstrim, Bay of Ardbear.
Situation:
In the North side of the parish. Bounded on the North by the Atlantic Ocean, West by townland Maum: South by the Atlantic Ocean and townland Derygimlagh and on the East by Derrygimlagh, Ardagh and the Atlantic Ocean. In the Barony of Ballinahinch and County of Galway.
