Description:
Richard Rathborne. Proprietor, Marquis of Clanricard, Portumna Castle. Agent, Robert D'Arcy, Woodville. This townland is held by 15 tenants, all of whom live on it, and have good looking houses. Rent 14s. per acre. No tenure. Soil light poor earth, producing potatoes, wheat, oats . A great part of it flooded. The last Co. Cess 1s. 41/2d. per acre. Adjoining this village there is the ruins of an old church and burying ground from which those lands take their name. This old ruins stand at the East of the village.
Situation:
North of the parish. Bounded on the North by the parish of Killeeneen and Poulnabauny townland, on E. by Ballywinnan townland, on S. by Ballymore and Craughwell and on W. by Crinnnagh and Parkrooa.
